Use of audio/visual equipment in Theatres, Seminar and Tutorial Rooms
Media Services is responsible for the provision and maintenance of audio-visual (AV) equipment in all the centrally bookable lecture theatres and seminar rooms throughout the University. These spaces have their audio/visual equipment refurbished on a routine basis to keep abreast of new technologies and teaching practices.
We can assist staff with the use of equipment in the teaching rooms, either by phone or email, or by meeting a member of staff in the room to provide more detailed instructions. See our webpage with written instructions for a variety of lecture theatres, classrooms, seminar rooms and tutorial rooms across the University.
Conferences and events - A/V support for University events
We provide AV support to conferences that take place within the University. This ranges from a simple instruction on the use of equipment at the start of a conference, to full-time technical support for an event or conference. We can provide both audio and video recording and editing services, as well as live event streaming via the internet.
A/V support for external or sponsored conferences and events
In addition to servicing events and conferences for the University, we also act as hosts for external groups who use the facilities. For external events some charges apply where additional equipment needs to be added to a room for an event or conference, or for dedicated technical support and for live event streaming services. See our list of equipment and services charges.
Our aim is to make everyone feel welcomed in the spaces they use, and for all the audio/visual equipment to be correctly functioning, providing a high quality experience for all users of the facilities.
