The Laidlaw Undergraduate Internship Programme in Research and Leadership
The Laidlaw Undergraduate Internship Programme in Research and Leadership is an exciting programme that aims to equip students with the skills and values to become leaders in their chosen occupations beyond University.
The programme integrates a summer research project where interns will design, pursue and report on a research question with a research supervisor from their chosen School, with a comprehensive leadership programme which runs across the academic year. This includes two intensive, bespoke leadership training sessions. Interns will also be awarded a 6 month studying membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
The summer project should last between 8-10 weeks for which interns will paid a weekly stipend of £400. All elements of the programme are compulsory including two Leadership weekends in March and October 2017. The expectation is that interns will be resident in St Andrews or within a commutable distance during their summer research project as part of the community of Laidlaw scholars.
